I think this one might be the most 'radical' one of the topics, and would probably recieve a higher chance for backlash, compared to the other two. At the same time, the tax on the item that is traded could be split in half between the two players that trade it (if the item is 200k for example, the seller would get 195k, so 2.5% lower, and the buyer would have to pay 205k for it, thus 2.5% higher). A scaled percentage would affect both the player selling the item (that would recieve less gold for the items sold), and the player buying the item (since it would have to pay a slightly higher amount). The grand exchange tax could word alike oldschools, based on a percentage of the item itself (for example, 5% of items from 100k to 1m, 1% from 1m to 10m, so on and so forth).

It was an update that removed a good chunk of the gold from the game, and it did not impact the gameplay of staking in a negative way, aside of the small percentage that was taxed. Lets take oldschools tax on the duel arena for example. Thus, runecrafting would indeed become a rune sink, but at the same time, you can buy most of your runes from shops, since they would have a much higher cap/day, and would end up as a buyable skill. What if instead of that, you could buy them in bulk from wizard shops, at a much higher cap, and to not devaluate runecrafting, they could be turned into a different type of rune (soul runes into unstable soul runes for example) that could be traded to an npc for different rewards, including xp. Some bosses, for example kerapac, have a drop of soul runes, which was a very good adition to the game, since theyre hard to make an take lots of time via runecrafting, and there aren't many mobs that drop them. The last one in this topic would be curent shops. What if they removed those from the squeal of fortune alongside cash bags, and make it solely focused on xp and dungeonerring tokens, and made npcs that sold them, much like in the example above? Jagex made a new adition with springs, magic notepaper and silverhawk feathers in the last months, which is much better than t80 weapons and 200 mill cash. A decent chunk of the playerbase considers it to be a pay to win mechanic. On the other hand, lets talk about squeal of fortune. What if we remove them entirely from boss and mobs drop tables, make thek untradeable, and buyable from an npc and able to sell them back at the same price (much like spirit shards). It came with new tiers of armour, diversity, and pretty much not mining iron ore fron level 15 until you could afk seren stones, or making the best platebody you could till 99.Įven so, the playerbase has been constantly complaining about the spirit stones drops on bosses loot table, since they're barely worth anything. The mining and smithing rework was probably one of the best updates runescape has ever had. What if we replace gold drops with fragments for a new skill, that can enhance your gameplay just like invention did? That gold is coming into the game from 'thin air', and it doesn't leave the game (since if you trade it for items, via ge or trading with players, it just swaps places with the one you trade it with). They're the reason partyhats are worth in tens of billions, why whenever we get a new item into the game thats best in slot (fractured staff of armadyl for example) are worth more than max cash. Getting items (such as weapons and armour), or resources (pure essence, herblore ingredients, logs, etc) aren't an issue, but the coins and salvage drops piling up are. When you think of making money in this game, you might think of getting a rare drop from a boss, doing slayer, or maybe camping a mob for a prolonged period of time.
